Creating Traditions

This Christmas Eve while I was sitting in my apartment I began to think about many of the traditions I remember while growing up. Opening one present on Christmas Eve, building sheet forts by the tree to camp out for Santa, baking a stupid amount of candy (because it never all got eaten) and decorating the tree with ornaments passed down through the decades.

I then decided to begin my own tradition with myself. Because you have to start them somewhere.

No matter where I am or who I'm with on Christmas Eve, I'm going to take a self portrait so I can always remember that moment.

From me to you, have a very Merry Christmas. And don't stop the Christmas traditions, they will mean so much more down road.

Ciao for now,

A new outlook on blogging

I've tried several times to blog. The first time was moderately successful — I posted consistently for about six months. Both times I tried I just got busy and tired of it. I think that was because I thought each post needed to be a long drawn out dissertation about something profound and monumental in message.

With that being said, I'm going to try something new. Shorter posts about the ordinary.

Because beauty is everywhere and there is always something to be thankful for.

Even though these leaves are dead, I still think they have a wonderful elegance. I think it's amazing how they can make dying look so beautiful.
