I had never done an engagement session out at Camp Tahkodah until this one with Weston and Peyton. Now that I think about it, that's sort of odd because Camp is such a special place for me. It's where I went for a two-week summer camp session right after I got my first point-and-shoot camera, after all. That place is largely what initially sparked my curiosity with photography (long before it was seen as a career path) which I think is why I have a strong connection to it even today. I spent six summers as a camper there and still think back on those times as some of my most happiest memories. I made lifelong friendship and too many lanyards to count but I wouldn't trade them for anything. Those summers spent there have helped shape me into the person I am today and I will always be thankful for them.
Weston and Peyton share my same love for Camp Tahkodah. They know there's just something special about that place, it has a way of riving the mind and soul. So when we were talking about where to take these pictures we all said, "Camp, of course." The boat dock pictured below is the same place Weston asked Peyton to marry him while they were counselors there this past summer. So it was a no brainer that it would be the backdrop for their pictures.
Here are a some of my favorites from our afternoon out at Camp Tahkodah.
Thank you for letting me be part of your lives for allowing me to capture your love for each other. And thank you for sharing a love for that same special place that holds so many memories for us all.
